WhQuestions 7.1

WH Questions is a multi-player game created to assist children in formulating and responding to WH questions, especially beneficial for those with language impairments1. Developed by a certified speech-language pathologist, WH Questions offers more than 400 opportunities for children to engage with real-world questions.

How to Play

Upon opening WH Questions, adults can explore results, initiate a new game, adjust settings, or access support. By selecting the "new game" option, adults are taken to the player screen where they can choose a current student or add a new one. The game seamlessly integrates with the Therapy Report Center (TRC), enabling easy importing and exporting of student data for streamlined report creation.

Once players are selected, adults specify the types of WH questions to be addressed, such as Why, How, Where, Who, When, and What. Each student's question type can be determined with a simple touch due to the game's multi-player nature.

Gameplay commences after question selection. A picture stimulus alongside the posed WH Question is displayed at the top of the page, with an audio recording verbally asking the question. A record button allows students to vocalize their responses while a play button aids in self-assessment. Data tracking is facilitated by clicking the appropriate square.

If the focus is on prompting students to ASK questions, the written questions can be removed to encourage students to pose inquiries instead. The Record button can capture the student asking questions in this case, while adults monitor if the target of asking or answering questions is met.

Data Collection

At the conclusion of each session, tapping the "All Done" button redirects users to the reports section. Selecting a student's name reveals individualized data presented graphically, showcasing session dates, targeted WH questions, and accuracy percentages color-coded for clarity (green: 80% or better, pink: under 80%, white: not addressed). The collected data can be effortlessly exported to The Therapy Report Center for progress tracking and report generation.

Customization

• Randomize Questions: This feature allows users to determine whether questions of one WH type should be finished before moving on to another.
• Display written questions: Users can choose to remove written questions from visuals; ideal for students focusing on auditory stimuli or questioning skills.
• Transition sounds: Customizable setting that controls auditory feedback between questions.
• Number of questions per student: Users can adjust the number of questions per student for enhanced opportunities and engagement during gameplay turns.
